Day 3 - 16 miles to Valbonne

Today is going to be another long distance at 16 miles, but the elevation is approx half of the last 2 days at 2,300ft. So we are hoping that it will be slightly easier after the last 2 monster days. Last night we all struggled up the stairs to our rooms after an early supper, like 3 old men.

So we headed out at 8ish and had a day of mainly gentle ups and downs with the exception of one really steep rocky descent where I took a nasty tumble. Plenty of blood and bruising but it could have been much worse. We had time for sunny cafe stops in Vence and Roquefort les Pins before arriving at the wonderful Valbonne, and the Hotel Armories. During the day we walked through lovely countryside & views and loads of wildlife. Time for hot showers now.

It's a lovely sunny start to the day with a nice view out of our apartment down onto Drap. Plenty of up and down for us with splendid views down across Nice from the Balcony Trail. Heading out soon. Our day started with a massive climb up to Tourettes Levens and then a steep downhill to Colomar and the River Var above Nice. From there it was another very steep climb up to Gattieres before the long walk down to La Gaude and our hotel

 We start our first section in Menton, walking the 71 miles up to Valbonne and down into St Raphael.  The second section is 78 miles in 7 days, ending in Toulon on 5th April.
